UNITED AGAINST PUPPY MILLS

DOgs Are Not Acessories

Creative team: Sophie Heidenreich, Meriel Upton

Role: Idea, Copywriter, Co - Art Director , Illustrator

500,000 dogs are currently kept in puppy mills to meet the demand for popular dog breeds. Most dogs chosen for breeding spend their entire lives in overcrowded cages until they either die of disease or are killed if they can no longer be bred. Most awareness campaigns for this cause are over-saturated with horrifying and sad images of dogs, leading most people just to tune out. The cute illustrations are juxtaposed with a dark message, exposing the absurdity of the designer dog trend.
